Scholarships for Young Researchers in India
In 2005 the Italian Minister of University and the Indian Minister for Science and Technology signed a Memorandum which provides for our country’s commitment to fund 100 fellowships to be held at the Italian universities for young researchers in India included research groups that operate in areas of common interest between India and Italy, as defined in the same memorandum.
In this regard, the Ministry has reserved for every financial year, an amount equal to 1,500,000 euros for 100 scholarships for young researchers in India, each of an annual total of 15,000 euros.
The scholarships will be enjoyed by young Indian researchers who conducted their activities in research groups at Italian universities, working in the following technology areas:
1. Satellite broadband
2. Electronics
3. Bioinformatics and neuroinformatics
4. Automation and production systems
5. Study and prevention of natural disasters
6. Web and multimedia technologies
7. GRID technologies and related infrastructure
8. Aerospace engineering
9. Nano-science and nano-technology
10. Computer science and mathematics
