Udine & Bikaner project deals with Luigi Pio Tessitori, the distinguished Italian scholar who worked in Bikaner from 1916 to 1919 as a linguist, philologist, historian and archaeologist.

A selection from Tessitori’s private archive is held today at the Castle Archaeological Museum in Udine.

The entire manuscript collection, called Fondo Tessitori, is kept at the «Vincenzo Joppi» Municipal Library in Udine as a donation from the Tessitori family acquired in 1923.

A prestigious exhibition, “Hic sunt leones”, dedicated to Luigi Pio Tessitori was held in Udine in 2012.
